Thirty Four Weeks Old

Here comes the fun, do do do do...

He can pull himself up onto all fours now, rock for a sec and the fall. I know just what's around the corner!!! I'm not really ready for him to crawl yet. It feels like he is growing up over night. It's not fair. He is 8 months old now, and I stopped nursing him on Friday. Really easy transition for both of us. It was just time. He loves his bottles and being a mom of 4 kids takes its toll on me. But he is still my baby. And I love him to death.

Thirty Three Weeks Old

I think it is safe to say that sitting up has finally become mastered! It sure took him some time, but Gavin is that baby, he has all the time in the world. I do have to say that it's not his favorite game to play though. Even when we sit him in front of him little toy, he only lasts 5-10 minutes before he gets bored being in one spot. He gently falls to the side and assumes his favorite pass time, rolling around on the floor, getting into mischief...

Thirty Two Weeks Old

Could this boy be any more stinkin' cute!!! I love that he has finally found his toes! He rolls around on his back and holds them. What a fun adventure it is to be a baby. The whole world around him is new and fasinating. Even the world he knows never gets dull. It is fun to watch him wiggle around and try to reach a scrap of paper or a sucker stick that didn't make it to the garbage yet - what treasure!!!

The Living Planet Aquarium

We've been wanting to come here for a while now and finally had a free Saturday afternoon. What a blast!!! There were tons of people, not so cool, but all the fish and everything were amazing. Max is increible to watch and is easily excited when it comes to living creatures. Peter loved the little alligators. Sophie loved the real octopus, I couldn't believe how big it was, its' head was as big as mine! Max love the giant fish, and kept running from tank to tank yelling "ish, ish!!!!!!". Actually I should back up and say that Sophie loved touching the sting ray!! She is so brave. Rich and I touched it too, Peter liked looking at it... 2 hours of total fun. What a great day.

sick and tired

This has been the sick house for a while now. Last week was a mess. Just before the illness spread to all of my kids I was telling someone that maybe it would be better if all my kids got sick at once instead of one at a time. Because it tends to drag on for a month when they get sick and better and then the next one gets it. Well, dreams really can come true. For a full week straight Sophie Peter and Max were all sick. Throw up, only want Popsicles, and I'm sick so I can watch whatever movie I want to sick (that doesn't count when everyone is sick by the way). When all the kids are sick at once it is hard on mama. So much caring needed to be done. Now I care, but I was exhausted. I got sick too!!! That's not fair I tell you!! I was so happy when the weekend came, only to realize that no matter what day of the week it was, we were all still sick. And Rich was still out. He has been working on a major project at his office all week and was no help to me at home, day or night. Same thing on the weekend. I single momed it. Sunday we were finally all well enough to make it to church together. But it was the first thing we've done together all week and it made everyone so tired. Poor Peter crawled onto the chair when we got home and fell asleep before dinner! He was doing exactly what I wanted to do, but couldn't. In any case, I am thankful for my health. Especially after us all being sick. We are sick and tired of being sick and tired. The sunshine outside is a welcome change and mimics the way we are finally feeling...

Too Young!!

I was doing Sophie's hair on Sunday for church and I pulled the sides back in clips. She made a face, pulling her lips downward when I did this and exclaimed "mom, I look too young when you do my hair like this. I look like I am 2 or something!!!"

Thirty One Weeks Old

This is the newest trick, which is not yet perfect. 7 months old and the boy still can't sit up yet. One day. But it is getting better. I just don't feel comfortable walking away, or even standing up if Gavin is practicing his sitting up skills. He doesn't get what all the fuss is about, especially since he is so happy laying down all the time.

My Absence

I feel like my world is finally starting to take shape. Things with the 4 kids are slowing down and falling into the routine. But my blogging habits have fallen behind. I can't say that I am too sorry. I feel like it is a little trade off. For the better. So you'll just have to bare with the multiple posts at once to back track my weeks. I still want to blog, but I want a happy home and family more. I barely even check email or blog maybe once or twice a week, for a few sparse minutes.
But update:
-I am holding strong on the contest I am in. I haven't lost a point yet.
-All three of my boys are sick today. I guess that's why I have a few minutes. They are all sleeping and Sophie is at school.
-Rich saw Twilight with me on the weekend and he totally hated it. No surprise I guess.
-We joined a gym. Yeah!! It is great.
-Max is talking a lot more. My sister in law wrote a whole list of words, signs, songs, etc that her little girl can do. I think I want to do that too. Just for my sake, to really know what Max can do. I bet it is a lot more than I think. But the more he communicates, the more I see how strong his personality is. Stubborn with a capital Stubborn.
-I am sick of the potty words and potty humor that come out of Peter's mouth, so to remedy this, he now gets his mouth 'cleaned' with soap when he says 'dirty' words. So far so good.

Laundry Buddy

So, this morning I was doing laundry, and feeling really good about it until Max walked in on me. He is a great 'helper'. He climbed himself in the dryer and started flinging at will the clothes that were in there. Not caring if I could fold them as fast as he could toss them. But he really was so proud of the work that he was doing that I couldn't complain too much. Funny kid. But on the up note, laundry is my friend. I find that if I treat it well, it treats me well.

Thirty Weeks Old

Gavin is starting to pivot on his tummy. Turning round and round to get what he wants. And he rolls over and over for amusement too. He is definitely a mobile baby now, and it is really fun to watch.
