Playing at the Park

We couldn't very well leave the park after feeding the ducks without playing on the playground. We spent even longer here, but we were prepared with snacks and water. It was SOOO nice not to have to worry about the time or anything at all. I worry less about things like that when Rich is out of town. Peter explored everything, more than usual, which was fun to watch. He was being more daring than I've seen him before. He even walked out half way on the shakey bridge unprompted. Then he ran back to his side. But in Peter's world that was huge. Tummy swinging it was still his speed on the swings. But what was the most fun for him was the merry-go-round, or what ever you call that thing. He waited and waited for a long time until the big kids got off (they go TOO fast for him) and then he took over! He and a boy and girl his age loved it. They would take turns spinning it and riding it. Pete would even walk across it - with NO hands! He was grinning from ear to ear the whole time. Even Max loved it and would WEEEE as he sat and held on while the boys pushed it around. I was glad the big kids stayed away from it for a good while. When they eventually came back Peter had had his fill and was OK to get off when they sped things up. Max also loved the swing. He was smiling and giggling as I pushed him higher and faster. I don't think he'll be as reserved as Peter when it comes to adventure... Knock on wood... It was the perfect afternoon. I did enjoy my own quiet time on the bench today too. Just enjoying watching the playing and sitting in the beautiful weather. But next time we'll have to find some friends to go with. Then I'll have someone to visit with while the kids played.
