Preschool

Today we had Sophie's Preschool at our house. This is the last week we have it before the summer begins. We took full advantage of the sunny morning and spent almost the full 2 1/2 hours outside. The theme of the day: gardens. We planted green beans in cups for the kids to take home. We talked about what they had planted or would want to plant in their garden. Holly started by saying strawberries and watermelons. Then everyone else said the same thing. Except Madison said peppers and tomatos (because there were pictures of them on the soil bag). Sometimes kids can be so creative, and sometimes they think they are being so creative. I had a great line up of outside games, but it took more energy on my part for me to keep calling their attention back to the game and they ended up just playing and finding potato bugs. Hope the moms don't mind that they didn't learn a whole lot today. The twin pops got all over... But it was fun. I think. Only one tragidy. Peter fell off his trike and scraped his knee and it bled. It's funny how tears are usually only provoked after they have seen the blood. Anyway, we have a great preschool group. I know Sophie will miss it next year. Maybe some of the kids will be in her kindergarten class. That would be fun. My favorite is how Sophie has taken to posing for pictures. She often has her head cocked to one side, toe pointed or body turned slightly. All her doing. I guess we've practiced it enough she has it down to an art... Thought this below picture would be cute, but I didn't think about the sun in their eyes. The kids were good sports considering!
